The Anti-fashion Movement of 1990 was an explosive reaction to the excess of the past ten years. It showed an uncertain era in which the ideals of beauty, the authenticity of information and fashion itself were questioned.
This project is around a fashion retrospective exhibition called “Anti-Fashion: ‘No’ and Beyond. ” The goal was to develop an identity and visual language that let the general public understand these fashion legends that consistently redefined the aesthetics of our time.

︎︎︎Pattern making broadly describes the process of creating and adapting shapes of garment to translate a two-dimensional design into a three-dimensional form. An appealing way to be anti-fashion is their avant-garde tailoring, so I incorporated this element into the compositions to keep the viewers focused on it.

The overall concept of the book is garment-making. Viewers can treat the whole book as a simulation of making clothes, including various steps. The first step is sizing and measurements, I put a related image on the first spread as the beginning. Then followed by an image about anti-fashion designer did fitting.
